Pride, theives, and stinky heat

Day seven
I biked up two of the three huge hills today! I was really getting into it all, feeling like a regular bike commuter. It was already so hot this morning. I think it gets smellier and smellier the hotter it gets. It's already 80 degrees out by 3:30 when I ride home. When I get to the elevator I see a man dash out in front of me sprinting up the stairs. I didn't clue into his bag or purse he was clutching but next thing you know, two restaurant servers come racing up the street chasing after him. Unfortunately, I get the sense that the the if was too fast and that he probably was not caught. It's amazing the things you witness when you are not stuck in an automobile on a boring freeway staring at the bumper of some other bored drivers car. Again, when I neared the stadiums I have to wait for a super long train to move back and forth back and forth creeping along as truckers, cars, pedestrians, and cyclists all sit and wait for about ten minutes. When I get to the long hill at the end of my ride, it is so hot and I think I used up too much of my steam on the morning ride pedaling up the hills, so I sit at a cafe, order an iced chai, ignore an old fat guy making comments about how he would have whistled at me if he saw me riding, and wait for Phil and Charlie to pick me up in the truck.
