Can't let a free pass go to waste

It's day three and I decide to drive my car. I have to pick up Lisa at 5pm, so I wouldn't have time to get home by bike and I have one free parking pass for campus that expires tomorrow. So, being my father's daughter, I can't let a free pass go to waste.
I decide to leave the house at 7:45am, which gives me plenty of time to go 12 miles and be on time for my 8:30am class. I was going to take the bridge to I-5, but I'm just sitting on the bridge and barely moving forward. As NPR drones on about discontent and uprisings in Egypt and Libya, I make the last minute decision to go a similar route as I go by bike. I head down first avenue and wind slowly through downtown to get to Eastlake. The traffic isn't too bad, but each stop light seems like I sit and waste so much time. I keep thinking how nice it's been to not have to worry about working out when I get home and I feel guilty again that I won't do anything active today.
I cross the Eastlake bridge and instantly I am just sitting in a traffic jam. I wonder where all these people are trying to go and where they come from and what's their excuse for not biking? The knot in my neck that is always so prominent during the school year, but has been unnoticeable the last two days, is stating to tense up big time.  I drive all the way around by the stadiums and again feel  lost at how to park close to my classroom.
The parking attendant at the entry way is very helpful and leads me to a nearby parking garage. As I follow the signs that say main campus, I can not believe that it's leading me up a series of escalators! Not only are lazy people driving their cars to school, but they are given the opportunity not to walk! I walk up the moving stairs anyway because I'm already three minutes late! I haven't been late when riding, but today I drive my car and I'm late. Go figure!
At the end of the day I walk slowly, unexcited to deal with the stress of driving. Again, I am amazed that even at 3:30pm I am stuck in massive traffic just trying to get off campus. I resolve to appreciate my ride tomorrow that much more.
